About these rates
Which rate is this?
The live market (mid-market) rate, the midpoint between buying and selling prices on international markets. It is the fairest single rate, but it is not the rate a bank, app or bureau de change will give you: they add a margin. Use the charge option to estimate what you will really get.
How often does it update?
Rates are fetched again every minute while this page is open, and as soon as you come back to it. The time of the last update is always shown. If the main source is unavailable, a backup source that updates daily is used.
Why is the street (BDC) rate different?
Bureaux de change and parallel markets set their own prices based on local demand for cash. They can differ from the market rate, sometimes by several percent.
